GEOGRAPHY OF TRANSPORTATION
TransLes operates in Russia's largest timber regions. Most of its timber freight services involve the Oktyabrskaya Railways, North Railways, Gorky Railways, Sverdlovsk Railways, Krasnoyarsk Railways, East Siberian Railways, Transbaikalia Railways, and Far East Railways.
In Siberia and the Far East Region, transport services are export-oriented, where timber is transported mostly to the border crossing stations Naushky, Zabaykalsk and Grodekovo, as well as the Far Eastern ports destined to China, Republic of Korea, and Japan. Part of timber is transported to the Middle East countries via the ports of the Azov-Black Sea region.
In the North-West region, inland transportation is predominant to supply pulpwood and timber to local paper and saw mills. Timber is exported to Finland and West European countries via the border crossing stations Buslovskaya, Vartsila, and Svetogorsk, and the port of St.Petersburg
